Project Location: Private Residence, Miller Beach, IN
Design Principle(s): John DeSalvo
This private residence originates from the desire to make use of insulated precast concrete panels, sourced from a local precast plant, which support hollow-core concrete planks which form the floors. The client had a special interest in building technologies and was eager to push the limits of precast in residential construction. By using these insulated panels, we no longer need additional exterior cladding or interior build outs to achieve the desired insulation and structural values. This means a trowel finished concrete exposed on both sides, while still achieving comfort and livability. The home is built to rise above the dune landscape to allow views out to the lakefront beyond.
